Greece

Postal workers begin strike action: Media sources indicated on February 25 that postal workers of Hellenic Post (ELTA) have been on strike against the non-renewal of 1,200 contracts since the beginning of the week. No timeline about the duration of the strike was immediately disclosed.
France

Air France Hop pilots embark on strike: it has been reported that Air France Hop pilots will hold a 24-hour strike action on February 24 over stalled talks regarding work conditions and salaries. After February 24, the pilots, represented by SNPL (National Union of Line Pilots), plan to strike for 12 hours every Friday until April 30. Flight cancellations and delays are likely to occur during the strikes.
Egypt
Start date: 17th February
The designated operator of Egypt, Egypt Post, asks us to inform other Union member countries and their designated operators that, effective 17 February 2020, it will resume the sending of mails to Qatar, using open and closed transit options via Oman.
Terminal dues and other charges will be settled through the UPU*Clearing system.
Bahrain
Start date: 20th February
Bahrain Post resumed the sending of mails to Qatar, using closed transit options via Oman, as of 20 February 2020.
Martinique – end of strike
Start date: 13th January
End date: 20th February
The designated operator of France, La Poste, asks us to inform other Union member countries and their designated operators that the major strike affecting the French overseas department of Martinique ended on 20 February 2020. Consequently, all postal operations have returned to normal.
Thailand

The designated operator of Thailand, Thailand Post Co. Ltd., informs that, owing to the suspension until further notice of partner airlines’ flights to China (People’s Rep.), it is currently unable to send mail, as indicated below, to the following destinations:
– China (People’s Rep.): letter-post, parcel-post and EMS items;
– Dem. People’s Rep. of Korea: letter-post items;
– Mongolia: letter-post and parcel-post items.

The collection/acceptance and delivery of letter-post, parcel-post and EMS items from/to the above-mentioned locations is temporarily suspended.
In addition to the above-listed “off-limits red zonesâ€Â, delivery may also be affected in neighbouring areas as a result of the precautionary temporary closure, by local order or individual initiative, of public institutions (schools, universities, nurseries, theatres, etc.), or businesses open to the public (restaurants, cafés, etc.).
Mail suspension due to Corona virus – update
Below Postal operators would like to inform other Union member countries and their designated operators that, owing to the suspension until further notice of flights from partner airlines to China (People’s Rep.), they are currently unable to send letter-post, parcel-post or EMS items to China.
They are therefore declaring a situation of force majeure and ceasing, with immediate effect, to accept letter-post, parcel-post and EMS items destined for China, until sufficient transport capacity becomes available.
