Spain

Correos (Spanish Post) has advised the Climate Change Summit is taking place close to Barajas Airport and Correos HQ. Protests are expected close to the event and also in the financial and business districts of Madrid, with a high security and police presence across the city.
In addition, public transport workers have announced strike action during the summit. Delivery operations are likely to be disrupted as a result, in the districts affected by the protests.
European services – industrial action

The designated operator of France, La Poste, asks us to inform other Union member countries and their designated operators that a national strike affecting many sectors which started in France on Thursday, 5 December 2019. While offices of exchange will remain open and transport of mail by road will continue, significant disruption is expected with road blocks, traffic jams, cancelled flights, and delays to collection and deliveries.
It is hoped that the situation will be back to normal on 6 December.
Countries potentially impacted are: France, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Austria, Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Luxembourg, Poland, Denmark, Norway, Sweden on all mail and parcel products.
Philippines

Airport closes due to approaching typhoon: Media sources reported on December 2 that Ninoy Aquino International Airport (MNL) was closed from 11 am to 11 pm local time on December 3 in anticipation of strong winds due to Typhoon Kammuri. Flights were expected to be severely affected during the closure period.

Please be advised that Typhoon Kammuri has made landfall in the central Philippines, at the southern end of Luzon Island. As a result, delivery delays are to be expected.
Canada

Winter weather affects road traffic: winter weather has significantly affected road traffic in New Brunswick province. Winter storm Ezekiel has brought heavy rainfall and snowfall, causing icy driving conditions on many interstates, highways and roads. The weather is anticipated to improve through December 5.
Serbia

Postal strike affects deliveries: Self-organized postal workers of Post of Serbia went on strike at the Main Postal Center Belgrade on December 2. The postal collection and delivery were not guaranteed on December 3. It was not immediately clear how long the strike would last.
United States

Winter storm affects ground transportation: winter weather has significantly affected ground transportation across the US Northeast. Winter storm Ezekiel has brought heavy rainfall and snowfall causing icy driving conditions on many interstates, highways and roads. The weather is anticipated to improve through December 3.
Kuwait – update

Kuwait is still experiencing Customs delays of up to 2-3 days. This is due to a backlog caused by high volumes injected into Kuwait.
We are continuing to monitor the situation and will update as soon as we have further information.
Saudi Arabia

Please be advised that Saudi Arabia customs are currently experiencing processing delays from 2-3 days. This is due to an increase of volume into the country.
Technical problems
Romania

C.N. POSTA ROMANA S.A. (RO) wishes to share the following: from Wednesday November 27th, 2019, C.N. POSTA ROMANA S.A. (RO) was experiencing IT problems impacting the generation of EDI messages for all kind of items (parcels, EMS, registered).
The problem was solved and from Tuesday, December 2nd 2019,
16:00 the transmission of EDI messages is back to normal.
Malaysia

Postal service resumes after IT disruption: On December 4, sources indicate that Pos Malaysia has restored IT service for each mail class and type of EDI message, following an internal system shutdown. Messages with information required for Customs screening between the origin and destination posts are however still suffering with intermittent problems and backlogs.
