Belgium

Office relocation may lead to air mail delays: On September 20, bpost reports that it will move its Mail unit air side at Brussels Airport to a new facility, which may lead to disruptions regarding the processing of inbound and outbound airmail during the relocation period. It was not immediately clear how long the disruptions may persist.
Hong Kong, China
Start date: 21st September
End date: 25th September
The designated operator of Hong Kong, China, Hongkong Post, informs that a series of public events, resulting in blockage of the streets and transportation network of major areas of Hong Kong, China since Saturday, 21 September 2019, were seriously affecting the processing and delivery of all inbound, outbound and local mail (letter post, parcels and EMS items).
Postal operations are back to normal since 25 September.
China

End date: 7th october
A national holiday is taking place from the 1-7 October, this year is also the 70th anniversary of People’s republic of China. There will be large celebrations, including a military parade which will take place on the 1 Oct.
China Post has confirmed a Customs’ holiday and reduced operating times during this period:
Beijing:Â No custom clearance between 1-7 Oct. This will affect any province which are under the jurisdiction of Beijing Customs. (Express Mail Service traffic will not be affected. However, standard letter and small packet through standard China Post network will be affected.
Shanghai/Guangzhou:Â Customs will operate as normal
ZheJiang/Jiangsu:Â Customs will not be operating from 1-3 Oct
Shenzhen:Â Customs will be working half day shifts from 1-7 Oct
Delivery delays are likely as a result.
Slovenia

Slovenia’s national air carrier Adria Airways has cancelled all flights from Ljubljana in the period from 24 to 25 September.
Delays can be expected and consequently longer delivery periods.
Sri Lanka
Start date: 20th September
End date: Ongoing
Flooding impedes road traffic: Media sources reported that Sri Lanka’s Department of Meteorology issued a weather warning on September 24 following heavy rainfall and associated flooding in south-western provinces since September 20. Worst-affected areas include Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara Galle and Matara, with several roads being flooded in these areas. More disruptions should be expected as additional rain is forecast until September 26.
Japan

Typhoon Tapah causes disruption: Typhoon Tapah is causing disruption as it moves northeast through the Tsushima Strait. Over 400 domestic flights have been cancelled and weather warnings are in place for multiple areas across Kyushu, Honshu and Hokkaido islands. More disruptions are possible in the coming days as the typhoon continues to move towards the Sea of Japan.
Indonesia

Protests disrupt air traffic: Local reports state that operations at Wamena Airport in the Papua Province have been temporarily suspended on September 23 due to violent demonstrations taking place in Wamena. It remains unknown when the airport will reopen but disruptions should be expected to persist as long as demonstrations in the area continue.
Puerto Rico

End date: Ongoing
Airports remain open during storm: Media sources reported that dozens of flights were cancelled at San Juan Airport in Puerto Rico during the passage of Tropical Storm Karen earlier this week. However, the airport remained open. Power outages and localized flooding may cause delays to mail operations over the coming days.
